One of the best parts of summer for me are the poppy fields on the outskirts of the city near Falmer. Usually in about June the carpets of red are visible from miles around.
They’re always guaranteed to draw a crowd too – and you can pretty much guarantee there will be a photographer lurking in one of the fields somewhere! Larking about in poppy field at sunset, camera in hand, is a pretty fun way to spend an evening.
Wow, just loved those photographs of the poppies, made me want to leap in that field and run around. We just don’t get anything like that English countryside I miss so much in New Zealand.
love these pictures! I’ve never really been up close to those fields before so never really realised how pretty they are! x
Thanks Suzi – are you Brighton-based? If so then you try and pop along to see the fields when they’re in bloom again next. Such a lovely sight, so summery!
